What is Loxymed?

The Nobel Prize for Medicine 2019 confirms the great potential of hypoxia and individual high-altitude climate conditions based on genetic processes for new therapy concepts. LOXY has been active in research and development since 2006 and is the carrier of the therapy platform LOXYMED. It refers to a therapy, training and treatment concept for the natural and individual increase in general health and performance through a high-altitude climate.
Areas of application:
  • new strategies for the prevention and correction of disturbed metabolic processes
  • Training and treatment concepts to naturally increase general health and performance
  • optimized rehabilitation
  • Revitalization in everyday life
  • methodical precision for top-class sports and mountaineering.
Metabolic rehabilitation
The metabolic syndrome is now viewed, among other things, as the decisive risk factor for coronary heart disease. The four symptoms that occur in combination are collectively known as "the deadly quartet" designated.
Indication fields:
  • Increased blood lipid levels
  • Elevated cholesterol
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Increased blood sugar
  • Diabetes mellitus type II
Therapy perspectives:
  • lowering blood sugar levels
  • the reduction of serum triglycerides
  • influencing insulin resistance
  • the regulation of insulin production
  • improved fat metabolism
  • the optimization of breathing performance
  • a normalization of blood pressure
  • strengthening the immune system
Respiratory diseases
The effect of high altitude climate and hypoxia has been used to treat respiratory diseases for decades and shows significant improvements in various parameters. Due to the reduced oxygen content, the body reacts with, among other things, increased production of red blood cells and increased oxygen transport capacity. Breathing becomes more effective, the organs are supplied with more oxygen and the immune system is strengthened.
Indication fields:
  • Increased susceptibility to infections in the bronchial area
  • Recurrent (recurring) bronchitis
  • Chronic bronchitis (resistant to drug treatment)
  • bronchial asthma
  • Chronic cold (rhinitis)
  • Allergic rhinitis (hay fever)
  • Inflammation of the sinuses (sinusitis)
  • Narrowing of the airways (spastic/allergic bronchitis)
  • Pre-asthmatic conditions
  • pollen allergy
Therapy perspectives:
  • Decrease in respiratory symptoms
  • Secretolytic effect
  • Spasmolytic effect
  • Improvement of lung function
  • Optimization of breathing technique
  • Increase in functional capillaries in organs and muscles
  • Strengthening the immune system
  • Improving sleep quality
  • Increasing physical condition (performance), cardiovascular
  • Optimization of the use of medications
Orthopedic rehabilitation
Rehabilitation programs under hypoxia have an increased stimulating effect on the cardiovascular system even with very low physical exertion. This means that performance losses caused by injury-related immobilization or limited physical movement can be compensated for in a timely and targeted manner. Rehabilitation training at altitude relieves the strain on ligaments, tendons, muscles and joints by up to 30% compared to training at normal altitude. Rehabilitation in an altitude climate is recommended for all indications that have led or are likely to lead to a limitation of normal performance and ability to move.
Therapy perspectives:
  • the maintenance of aerobic performance (= endurance) in phases of limited resilience due to injuries or illnesses
  • improving blood counts before operations
  • Improving tissue and organ supply by stimulating microcapillary length growth and microcirculation
Prevention
Vascular researchers now have convincing scientific data on the question of whether the aging process can actually be stopped: An important basis for slowing down the aging process is an intact, well-functioning vascular system! Because reduced blood flow in the large blood vessels, but also in the billions of smallest microvessels (impaired microcirculation), has far-reaching consequences. The lack of oxygen supply to the cells causes destructive free radicals to increase and weakens the immune defense against infectious pathogens and cancer cells. All of this makes our organs and therefore our bodies look “pretty old”. LOXYMED offers very good prospects for stopping the aging process and effectively preventing age-related diseases.
Therapy perspectives:
  • Increasing physical and mental resilience as well as stress tolerance
  • Increase in oxygen transport capacity
  • Regeneration of the immune system
  • Normalization of blood pressure
  • Healthier sleep
Top sports & Alpinism
The topic of hypoxia has been known among competitive athletes at least since the 1986 Summer Olympics in Mexico. However, utilizing the positive effects of altitude training at natural altitude comes with many disadvantages, which is why LOXY offers a holistic solution for athletes and alpinists.
Benefits of altitude training at artificial altitude:
  • Individually adjusted and self-selected height level
  • Usability all year round
  • Flexible adaptation to the height
  • Reduced stress on joints, ligaments and tendons
  • Maintaining good aerobic performance throughout the competition season
  • No change in time zone or diet necessary
  • Athletes can prepare better for competitions in familiar surroundings
  • Individual programs for pre-acclimatization in mountaineering
  • Performance diagnostics can be carried out under hypoxic conditions
  • The possibility of regular altitude training enables rapid recovery of training success
